Chirper.com - FAQ

What is a Chirp?
It's like a tweet on Twitter, but is faster and smaller. Try it, say “chirp” then “tweet.” It may sound negligible, but when scaled, it makes a significant difference.

Why?
In our usability studies, we have spent a great deal of time researching Saussurean linguistic structures and pairings. We’ve discovered that in order to effectively communicate, humans need only read 30% of the letters in a word, or 35% of the words in a sentence, to extract the same meaning or metaphorical essence of a message. From this research we’ve developed an essentially Chomskian mechanism specifically related to semantic and syntactical structure, which we are calling:
Communicate Rapidly Algorithm Processing.

With this, we have been able to very accurately condense messages to their essence, with minimal loss of  information.

Who is Chirper for?
If you love lengthy conversations and have the time to spare, Twitter is probably the best solution for you. If you want to stay informed, but don’t have the time to spend hours on FriendFeed Twhirling or twitdecking your friends many insignificant Tweets, then Chirper is for you!

Take for example, your common Tweet: "I'm heading for the shower." Thanks for letting us know. With Chirper, instead of wasting 25 characters of your follower's attention, you only spend 11 with
"hed to shr." What a time saver! Your friends will thank you for it.

Sounds great, but what will it cost?
Chirpr is, and will always be free. Of course it’s a business, so we’ll have to make money at some point.

We intend to monetize through a unique connection system - we'll contextually match your Chirps with highly targeted ads.
Ex:
Hate your job? HR will contact you shortly
Want to propose to your fiance? We'll show you, and her, the ring you bought.

Rest assured that as our business grows and spending increases, and our investors get anxious, we’ll try all sorts of advertising to prove we can be profitable, until ultimately we shutdown and sell your information to pay off debts.
